Market Fundamentals Intern
Department: Commercial
Reports to: Director, Market Strategy & Fundamentals
Effective Date: Summer 2026
Location: Remote
Travel: Up to 10%
Position Purpose
This is a temporary, non-exempt position reporting to the Director, Market Strategy & Fundamentals. The Market Fundamentals Intern will be responsible for conducting energy market data analysis and research in support of KCE’s market fundamentals function.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizing and processing energy market data across a variety of formats and platforms (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, Orennia ION, FERC EQR)
- Supporting data analysis and interpretation of key trends
- Assisting in the preparation of PowerPoint slide decks and research presentations
- Contribute to the creation and updates of price and revenue curves
- All other duties as required
Work Experience & Requirements
- Familiarity with U.S. power and gas markets a plus
- Advanced data analysis skills in Excel and similar formats
- Coding ability (e.g., SQL, Python) a plus
- Familiarity with nodal analysis software (e.g., DAYZER) a plus
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
