Job Description

Who We Are

KEV Group builds mission-critical financial software for K12 schools across North America. Our platform provides real-time visibility and control over how funds are collected and managed, replacing fragmented workflows with secure, modern systems that schools rely on every day.

Trusted by more than 27,000 K12 schools managing over $8B annually, KEV delivers mission-critical software for payments, accounting, and reporting, where reliability and security matter. Headquartered in Toronto with teams across North America, we are scaling quickly and investing deeply in cloud-native, data-driven technology.

KEV is a place for people who care about building durable software at scale and doing work that has real impact in public education. We focus on solving hard problems, raising the bar on engineering craft, and building products that earn long-term trust from the communities we serve.

About the Product Designer Role

We are looking for an exceptional Product Designer to help shape software that schools rely on every day to manage and move money with confidence. This role sits at the intersection of design, finance, and public education, where clarity, trust, and usability are critical.

You will spend time getting close to customers through research, ongoing discovery, and usability testing. You will also draw on data, partner input, and real-world product usage to inform decisions and guide your work.

You bring a high bar for craft and genuinely care about designing experiences customers enjoy using. You balance intuition with evidence, pay attention to the details that matter, and iterate with intention until the work feels clear, thoughtful, and trustworthy.

How You'll Contribute

  • Understand the problem: You will get close to customers, workflows, and data to understand what matters, what's broken, and where design can make the biggest difference.
  • Define and explore solutions: You will turn discovery and requirements into clear problem definitions, then explore multiple approaches through sketching, prototyping, and iteration to surface strong solutions.
  • Validate with users: You will conduct and participate in user research and usability testing, using feedback and evidence to validate assumptions and guide design decisions.
  • Design clear, usable experiences: You will design intuitive, accessible interfaces and user flows across web and mobile, making complex tasks feel straightforward and trustworthy.
  • Communicate and deliver with quality: You will communicate ideas through clear design artifacts, produce strong design specifications, and partner closely with Engineering to ensure accurate, high-quality implementation.
  • Learn, iterate, and raise the bar: You will continuously improve designs using customer feedback, analytics, and real-world usage, contribute to the design system, and bring best practices that raise the standard for design at KEV.

Who You Are

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Product Designer, ideally working on B2B SaaS products.
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong design fundamentals across interaction, visual design, and usability, with a consistent eye for clarity, accessibility, and detail on desktop and mobile.
  • Comfortable applying UX methodologies, conducting user research, building prototypes, and running usability testing to inform decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
  • A strong product thinker who can balance user needs with business goals and technical constraints.
  • Clear communicator and collaborative partner, comfortable working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Able to manage multiple initiatives and priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high bar for quality.
