Job Overview
The Sr Automation Controls Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, supporting and improving a broad variety of automated control systems. These systems range from simple single loop controllers and relay logic to advanced HMI - PLC based systems. The role connects automation with coffee roasting, packaging and distribution processes.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance and implement automated solutions to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Support the commissioning and optimization of new and existing manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment and automated controls.
- Design and support automated system networks and data acquisition systems.
- Manage change control and maintain system documentation.
- Train maintenance and operations personnel in controls and diagnostics.
- Interface with manufacturing, engineering teams, vendors, and contractors.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety requirements and company policies.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of Industrial Automation experience in manufacturing.
- Extensive PLC programming experience, preferably with Allen-Bradley systems.
- Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols and Manufacturing Execution Systems.
Competencies
- Hands-on electrical experience with control panels and circuits.
- Knowledge of robotic control systems and variable speed/servo drives.
- Familiarity with visual basic, databases, and industrial networks.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
