Job Summary

This Research Associate Co-Op position offers immersive, hands-on experience in preclinical research focused on muscle, bone, and stem cell biology. The role involves working with in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo techniques in a fast-paced lab environment, along with comprehensive mentorship and multidisciplinary team engagement.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform in vitro and ex vivo research including cell culture, RNA isolation, and gene expression analysis by qRT-PCR.
  • Execute assays such as Western blot and ELISA to assess protein expression and therapeutic activity.
  • Conduct antibody staining and flow cytometric analysis of bone marrow stem cells and other cell types.
  • Maintain accurate experimental records and summarize results in study reports.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings, present data, and troubleshoot experiments.
  • Uphold laboratory safety protocols and scientific documentation standards.

Core Competencies

Candidates should be proficient in cell culture and sterile technique and familiar with molecular biology methods such as RNA extraction, qRT-PCR, Western blot, and ELISA. Excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset are essential.

Preferred Skills & Education

Prior lab experience, interest in stem cell, bone, or muscle biology, and data analysis skills are a plus. Current undergraduate or graduate students in animal science, biology, biochemistry, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
