Role: Data Scientist
As a Data Scientist at Kentro, you will join a diverse team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs by analyzing clinical data and evaluating health informatics solutions. You will develop and manage information to support strategic decision-making and communicate complex analyses to executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage data supporting strategic decision-making.
- Perform complex analyses and present findings to senior leadership.
- Conduct data research, manipulation, risk assessment and solution development.
- Consult and provide analytic services to leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create data visualizations.
- Analyze trends, define key performance indicators and objectives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 2 years of experience. Proficiency in statistical methods, causal inference, machine learning, data mining, forecasting and predictive modeling is required, preferably in the healthcare sector. Strong programming skills in Python and/or R and version control (git) knowledge are essential. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Agile or SAFe Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with VistA/CPRS.
- Experience extracting data from the Veterans Affairs Corporate Data Warehouse.
