Assistant Configuration Manager

The Opportunity

Join KBR as an Assistant Configuration Manager supporting the Armoured Fighter Vehicle Branch. In this role, you will manage configuration data, vehicle records, and technical documentation essential for the lifecycle management of Australia’s Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle fleet and next-generation combat systems integration.

Responsibilities

  • Support configuration management processes for land vehicle systems.
  • Plan, document and schedule Configuration Control Boards.
  • Collect, verify, and control configuration data from multiple sources.
  • Use Configuration Management Tools such as CMT-L/ERP to input data.
  • Maintain quality assurance of data records and technical documentation.
  • Assist with technical certification and review of Mission System upgrades.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sustainment, logistics, and field support teams.
  • Conduct configuration audits and support technical data package management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years defence-related experience in data and configuration management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Defence Configuration Management policies.
  • Experience with Configuration Management Tools such as CMT-L, TeamCentre, or ERP; JIRA is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent Defence experience.
  • Mandatory possession of an active NV1 (or above) Defence Security Clearance.
