Role Overview

The Solutions Architect - NATO BQA will define and lead the architecture of large, secure systems in defense and security contracts. You will work closely with engineering, security, and stakeholder teams to ensure architectural integrity, scalability, performance, and compliance with NATO and BQA standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end system architecture including modules, interfaces, and data flow.
• Translate requirements into blueprints, design patterns, and guidance.
• Ensure integration of compliance, security, and operational requirements.
• Lead architecture reviews and enforce consistency across subsystems.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Security, Infrastructure, and Development teams.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and decision-making in complex scenarios.
• Evaluate new technologies and document architectural decisions and trade-offs.
• Interface with clients, auditors, and stakeholders to justify architectural choices.

Mandatory Requirements

• 7+ years as a Solutions Architect or equivalent in security, defense, or regulated environments.
• Experience designing systems for NATO, BQA, defense, or classified governmental domains.
• Expertise in end-to-end system design including microservices and distributed systems.
• Proficiency with backend frameworks (Java, Go, C#, Node.js) and frontend systems (React, Angular, Vue).
• Strong understanding of security patterns and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
• Experience with containers, orchestration (Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Ability to interface with various stakeholders and enforce architectural discipline.
• Location based in Europe with legal eligibility and willingness for background/security checks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience on NATO/BQA defense architecture projects.
• Certifications like TOGAF, CISSP, or related credentials.
• Familiarity with real-time, embedded systems or network-level architecture.
