Role Overview

The DevSecOps Engineer NATO BQA Remote Europe will bridge development, operations, and security by building, deploying, and maintaining infrastructures and pipelines that comply with NATO and BQA security standards. This role focuses on security automation, compliance enforcement, and collaboration with architects and engineers to embed robust security across all systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines and infrastructures
  • Integrate security controls, scans, and audits into deployment workflows
  • Automate compliance checks, vulnerability scanning, and remediation processes
  • Develop secure Infrastructure as Code templates and modules
  • Harden systems, environments, and services to meet strict standards
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and conduct incident analysis
  • Perform threat modeling, security reviews, and risk assessments
  • Document security architecture, processes, and incidents
  • Collaborate with external auditors, compliance teams, and stakeholders

Mandatory Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years in DevSecOps, infrastructure or cloud security in regulated environments
  • Experience with NATO, defense, BQA or similar high-security domains
  • Strong cloud expertise with AWS, Azure, or GCP and networking fundamentals
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
  • Proven skills in secure design, encryption, identity & access management
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning, risk assessments, and incident response
  • Excellent English communication skills and ability to articulate technical issues
  • Based in Europe and legally eligible for contract work with defense clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with NATO or BQA security projects
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, AWS/Azure Security
  • Experience with real-time systems, classified environments, or network-level security
