Role Overview

The DevSecOps Engineer BQA NATO Remote Europe will bridge development, operations, and security by building, deploying, and maintaining pipelines and infrastructure that comply with NATO and BQA security standards. This role involves leading security automation, enforcing compliance, and partnering with architects and engineers to embed robust security into all systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure.
  • Integrate security controls, scans, and audits into workflows.
  • Automate compliance checks, vulnerability scanning, and remediation.
  • Develop and secure Infrastructure as Code templates using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Harden systems and environments to meet strict security standards.
  • Monitor, respond to, and analyze security incidents in production.
  • Conduct threat modeling, security reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Document security architecture, processes, and incident details.
  • Engage with external auditors, compliance teams, and stakeholders.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must have at least 5+ years in DevSecOps or cloud security within regulated, defense, or government settings. Prior exposure to NATO, defense, or BQA environments is required. Strong cloud platform expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP), knowledge of VPCs, networking, IAM, container orchestration, and experience with CI/CD and automation tools are essential. Familiarity with security standards and compliance frameworks, excellent English communication, and readiness for background checks are mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with NATO or BQA security projects, relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, AWS/Azure Security), hands-on experience with real-time systems, or network-level security is advantageous.
