Having completed their pivotal clinical study, Kardium's focus is now on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in their journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.
Reporting to the QC Supervisor, the Quality Control Technician will have direct responsibility for Quality Control activities supporting the development, manufacturing, and sales of Kardium products.
Please note, this opportunity is an onsite work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.
Additionally, due to the nature of their manufacturing operations, this role involves a rotating or variable schedule. It includes 12-hour shifts ending at approximately 7 p.m., as well as weekend coverage. Occasional work on statutory holidays may also be required.
Meaningful Work You Will Be A Part Of
Your responsibilities will include:
- In-process and incoming inspections according to established specifications and procedures inside certified cleanrooms.
- Producing formal reports of inspection and measurement results and initiating non-conformity reports (NCR) when required.
- Implementing 5S good practices to the Quality Control stations.
- Suggesting improvement ideas related to the Quality Control processes.

You are suited to their approach and possess these attributes:
- At least two years of hands-on quality control or metrology lab experience, preferably in regulated manufacturing industries, such as medical devices or automotive.
- Desire to work in a certified cleanroom environment.
- Able to perform detailed visual inspections.
- An ability to interpret mechanical drawings to understand specified dimensional and functional characteristics to be measured, tested, or inspected, including the basics of GD&T.
- Proficiency with standard measurement tools/systems such as calipers and micrometers.
- An associate degree or diploma in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, and/or related experience.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication and technical documentation skills.
- The willingness and ability to take on additional responsibilities as appropriate.
Compensation, Benefits & Well-being
Kardium offers a total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) of $50,000 - $63,000 CAD Annually for this role. Pay will be determined based on various factors including education, qualifications, experience, and skills. Permanent employees also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.
