Role at Kardium
As a Facilities Manager, you will manage nearly 225,000 square feet of office, manufacturing, and warehouse space spread across ten buildings in a business park in Burnaby, BC. You will report to the Manager, Special Projects and closely work with the Equipment Maintenance Team on cleanroom related facilities issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a small team of two facilities specialists, assign tasks, manage workloads and provide training.
- Perform hands-on building and equipment repairs and maintenance including doors, lighting, flooring, blinds, minor plumbing, furniture moves, snow removal and material sourcing.
- Coordinate with vendors/contractors for locksmith services, appliance repair, furniture installation, fire alarm inspections, waste management, and janitorial services.
- Collaborate with the Equipment Maintenance Team for HVAC, roof/window leak repairs, and pest control. Manage small improvement projects with subcontractors and implement health and safety committee actions.
What You Bring
- 5-10 years of hands-on building repair and maintenance experience.
- 3-5 years of experience managing teams of tradespeople.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Knowledge in setting up annual maintenance plans and improving facility operations.
- Relevant trade certification or higher education in facilities management or engineering is desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and facilities ticketing software such as MaintainX.
- Familiarity with building, electrical, plumbing, fire, and health and safety codes.
- Flexible and adaptable with a positive and friendly attitude.
Compensation & Benefits
The role offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $100,000 CAD per annum along with a 5% RRSP contribution.
