Position Overview
The Senior Editor, Marketing at Kaplan is responsible for ensuring that all marketing materials meet high standards of quality, clarity, consistency, and compliance. This role involves exercising editorial autonomy and managing both strategic and tactical editorial tasks across digital, print, and cross-platform marketing initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the editorial process for diverse marketing campaigns.
- Evaluate and edit copy for clarity, tone, and compliance.
- Identify potential legal and compliance risks and escalate when necessary.
- Review content for accreditation and regulatory requirements.
- Draft promotional disclaimers and coordinate with legal teams.
- Participate in kickoff meetings and guide editorial strategies.
- Copyedit and proofread various campaign assets and communications.
- Review digital ads with attention to industry best practices.
- Ensure marketing claims strengthen brand identity.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in English, journalism, or communication with 3+ years of experience in a marketing, communication, or publishing environment. Must demonstrate strong editing skills, editorial judgment, independent work capability, and familiarity with style guides.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with digital marketing platforms, CMS, project management tools, and higher education accreditation processes.
