The Customer Solutions team within Kalmar Digital Solutions, provides world class applications for our customers. Do you want to be part of creating the data-driven software that defines the future of the industry? We are currently seeking a Lead QA & DevOps Engineer to join our Customer Solutions team.

As our new Lead QA & DevOps Engineer, you will develop automated system testing and monitoring capabilities for our suite of customer applications. If you are a quality-focused engineer who enjoys working in an international, cross-functional setup and has a passion for DevOps, we want to hear from you.

The role is based in one of our offices in Finland: Tampere, Helsinki or Turku. You must be authorized to work in Finland and preferably currently reside in the country.

What Are Your Key Responsibilities

  • Define the Quality Strategy: Take full ownership of the QA roadmap, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing modern testing standards across the entire product lifecycle.
  • Architect Automated Pipelines: Design and maintain robust automated system testing and monitoring frameworks, integrating them seamlessly into our CI/CD build pipelines to ensure continuous delivery.
  • Bridge the DevOps & QA Gap: Manage release processes and build pipelines, providing expert guidance and support to developers to foster a culture of shared quality and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate Across Functions: Act as the primary technical liaison for quality, communicating complex testing insights and troubleshooting results to product management, enterprise teams, and global stakeholders.
  • Master End-to-End System Testing: Oversee all aspects of the testing process—from crafting comprehensive test cases for frontend and backend solutions to deep-diving into product architecture for advanced troubleshooting.
  • Drive Proactive Issue Resolution: Work side-by-side with developers in an international, cross-functional setup to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software issues before they reach the customer.

What You Bring To The Role

  • Engineering & Automation Expertise: Several years of experience in designing and developing automated system tests, with a strong command of Python (experience in TypeScript or JavaScript is a plus).
  • Testing & Tool Knowledge: Hands-on expertise with frameworks like Robot Framework, Browser Library, and Cypress, along with Docker to ensure testing environments are consistent and reliable.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure Skills: A solid background in AWS services (such as RDS, S3, Lambda, and ECS) and experience using CDK or CloudFormation to manage cloud resources.
  • Automation & Monitoring Knowledge: Practical experience building CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or Bitbucket) and creating dashboards to monitor application health and send automatic notifications.
  • Communication & Leadership Skills: The ability to present technical quality data clearly to stakeholders and collaborate effectively with both developers and management in an international setup.
  • Education & Growth Mindset: A Master’s degree in Software Engineering or a related field, combined with a proactive, problem-solving approach and a drive for continuous learning.
