Job Summary
This Quality and Safety Oversight Specialist V role at Kaiser Permanente partners with the Board of Directors in overseeing systems to monitor and ensure quality care across the continuum of care. The role serves as a point of escalation for complex quality improvement issues and works to maintain the integrity of credentialing, privileging, and compliance processes.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Partnering with leadership to monitor quality systems.
- Providing technical advice on quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
- Managing grievance processes and patient safety initiatives.
- Conducting epidemiological research on infection control.
- Developing risk management and data management programs.
Essential Duties:
- Promote learning and provide actionable feedback across teams.
- Oversee business-specific projects and ensure compliance with policies.
- Consult on clinical quality improvement processes and regulations.
- Develop work plans, delegate resources, and monitor critical quality metrics.
- Coordinate with external evaluators and manage regulatory audits.
- Research corrective action plans and analyze patient care processes.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop and monitor systems to report safety hazards.
- Provide consultation for new clinical quality programs.
- Conduct complex root cause analysis and failure mode studies.
- Serve as subject matter expert to mentor junior team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum three years of leadership experience.
- Experience with databases, spreadsheets and training programs.
- Four years in a clinical setting or health care administration.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field plus additional healthcare experience.
Additional Requirements: Business Process Improvement, Risk Management, Compliance, Healthcare Data Analytics, Project Management, and Quality Improvement skills are essential.
