Job Summary
As a Private Equities Secondaries Analyst within the Private Equity Secondary Group, you will be deeply involved in various facets of private equity, with a primary focus on secondaries. You will contribute to all stages of the secondary deal process, developing and articulating thoughtful opinions. This role thrives in an entrepreneurial, collaborative, low-ego environment characterized by high volume and a fluid structure.
Job Responsibilities
- Deal sourcing, screening, and conducting comprehensive due diligence on private equity secondary transactions, leveraging the team's robust GP network and broader private capital connections.
- Participate actively in the evaluation and analysis of secondary transactions and assets across diverse stages (e.g., buyout, venture, growth equity), industries, and geographies.
- Collaborate with external entities such as fund managers, management teams, and investment bankers, as well as internal groups, to perform thorough due diligence and execute transactions.
- Prepare and present detailed due diligence materials and insightful investment committee memos.
- Formulate a well-reasoned opinion on various investment opportunities and communicate it efficiently, both verbally and in written formats.
- Manage key relationships with private equity sponsors, intermediaries, advisors (financial, legal, commercial), and other investors.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
- 1+ years of experience in private equity (secondaries, buyout, special situations, etc.) or other directly relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience interacting effectively with secondary brokers, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
- Robust technical ability to accurately evaluate, underwrite, and execute secondary transactions.
- Exceptional modeling, Excel, and presentation skills.
- Proven track record of executing and successfully completing private equity deals.
- Strong understanding of risk/reward trade-offs and the ability to exercise sound investment judgment.
- A self-starter mentality with the capacity to think creatively when evaluating and advancing opportunities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective verbal and written communication and presentation of ideas.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently, with a keen attention to detail.
- Promote and embody a positive, team-oriented attitude, coupled with a strong desire for continuous development.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
- CFA and/or MBA qualification is a plus, though not a mandatory requirement.
- Experience operating effectively within a small team environment is also a plus.
