About the Role
The Natural Resources Investment Banking Associate in Calgary plays a key role in business strategy and execution within the energy and mining industry. This position is involved in the full cycle of transactional execution, including preparing marketing pitches, financial analysis, internal committee memoranda, and client presentations.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop strategic meeting content for M&A and capital market transactions.
- Interact daily with senior team members and client management.
- Guide and review valuation analysis including DCF, trading and transaction comparables, and LBO analyses.
- Tailor financial analyses specifically for Natural Resources sector transactions.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to Associates and Analysts.
Qualifications & Skills
Candidates are expected to have a strong academic background from a top-tier institution, robust analytical and financial modeling skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the M&A transaction cycle. Impeccable communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an investment banking front office role and interest in the energy and mining sectors will be highly preferred.
