About the Role: Insider Threat Associate at JPMorganChase
Join JPMorganChase's Global Security (GS) Insider Threat team, a crucial enterprise-wide initiative focused on safeguarding the firm from internal risks. This role is paramount to protecting the firm's reputation, workforce, clients, and assets through data-driven identification, analysis, research, and mitigation of insider threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day operations and strategic deliverables in compliance with legal and privacy requirements.
- Triage events from detection use cases, producing data-driven analyses of insider incidents, risk analyses, and threat assessments.
- Facilitate the referral of suspicious activity for investigation and escalate critical information to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Coordinate cross-functional mitigation strategies and monitor intelligence sources for notable insider events.
- Provide SME-level support on insider threat matters, leveraging knowledge of cybersecurity and counterintelligence.
- Communicate complex problem sets clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Support compliance in strengthening the firm-wide control environment.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- 3+ years of experience supporting an insider risk/threat program.
- Direct analytical and/or investigative experience as an analyst in industry or government.
- Proven ability to assess complex threats and develop mitigation strategies with global teams.
- Undergraduate degree in Intelligence Studies, Forensic Science, Security Studies, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Analysis, or related field.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and multi-source research on threat actors, tactics, techniques, and emerging trends.
- Experience evaluating control environments and developing solutions for control gaps.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including executive-level briefing experience.
- Ability to think independently, creative problem-solving, and passion for developing innovative solutions.
- Experience implementing and managing workstreams, stakeholder engagement, and timely project delivery.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience or knowledge of the private sector, especially financial industry insider threat (e.g., CERT courses, CCITP, GCITP, FIAT).
- Background in Counterintelligence, analytical, and/or security tradecraft training/certifications.
- Behavioral Science/Analysis/Threat Assessment experience or training.
- Experience with insider threat technical solutions and data analytics platforms (e.g., User Activity Monitoring (UAM), User Behavior Analytics (UBA), rules/policy engines).
- Proficiency with SQL, data query, analytical tools, and visualizations.
