Construction Management Associate

As a Construction Management Associate within the Lending Services team at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the viability and success of our property-related projects. Your expertise in construction management will be crucial in reviewing construction documents, monitoring project progress, and addressing any issues that may impact the property during the loan term. You will leverage your critical thinking skills to analyze and report on various aspects of the construction process, while your advanced strategic planning abilities will guide the direction of our projects. Your proficiency in conflict management will be key in resolving any potential disputes, and your emotional intelligence will help foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to our team and department, while also developing your skills and knowledge in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze and review construction documents to assess project viability, ensuring alignment with loan terms and risk policies.
  • Monitor project progress from initiation to closeout, identifying and escalating any potential issues that may impact the property.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, bankers, design professionals, and third-party consultants, to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Apply knowledge of construction materials, methods, standard practices, and building codes to effectively manage commercial, multi-family, and residential construction loans.
  • Contribute to business review processes and resiliency efforts, utilizing critical thinking and strategic planning skills to drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Degree in a construction, engineering or architecture related field is required.
  • Demonstrated ability in construction management, with a focus on analyzing and reporting on construction documents and assessing project viability, supported by a proven track record of effective management over two years.
  • Proven ability to monitor and manage construction projects from initiation to closeout, identifying and escalating potential issues.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in conflict management, with a track record of facilitating discussions and creating win-win solutions.
  • Advanced strategic planning skills, with experience in defining organizational direction and making decisions on resource allocation.
  • Proficiency in stakeholder management, with a history of establishing productive working relationships and driving mutually beneficial outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Proficient in driving continuous improvement and process automation, optimizing lending workflows and enhancing operational efficiency through demonstrated digital literacy.
  • Experienced in creating quantitative reports to track lending performance, supporting strategic planning with data-driven insights.
  • Adept at leading project management efforts, ensuring successful execution of lending service initiatives and alignment with organizational goals.
