About the AI Strategy Director Role

Join JPMorganChase as an Executive Director on the Strategic Artificial Intelligence Governance & Enablement (SAIGE) team in APAC. In this pivotal role, you will drive the firm’s AI/ML strategy focusing on governance, enablement, and regulatory compliance across the region. You will lead transformational initiatives, establish robust governance frameworks, and navigate the evolving regulatory landscape for AI/ML.

Job Responsibilities

The AI Strategy Director will:

• Define and operationalize the AI strategy for APAC.
• Develop and implement governance frameworks and policies for responsible AI/ML.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate AI-related risks including data privacy and fairness.
• Monitor and implement evolving AI/ML regulations across APAC.
• Engage with regulators and represent the firm in industry forums.
• Drive wider adoption of AI/ML solutions and best practices across business lines.
• Advise senior leadership on strategic AI/ML initiatives.
• Manage and coach a high-performing team in APAC.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 12+ years of experience in AI/ML governance, model risk management, or regulatory compliance. Formal training or certification in these areas along with a strong technical background is essential. The ideal candidate is experienced in developing governance frameworks, navigating regulations in APAC, and leading cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the Financial Services industry, particularly in APAC, and hands-on experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models, Agentic AI, or AI guardrails are preferred. Prior global or regional team management experience is also beneficial.
