Job Description
Who are we looking for?
At Journi, a creative tech company and Austria's most innovative start-up of 2024, we're on a mission to become the go-to place and easiest solution to relive your memories as stories. We're exploring new ways to help people capture, collect, and relive what matters most in their lives. Be part of a team of highly motivated and like-minded individuals who you can learn from and who are excited to learn from you too!
As a Product Designer Innovation, you're part of two teams. In our Innovation squad, you'll partner with Product Management (PM) and Engineering to explore new product concepts and business opportunities. You'll work in a zero-to-one environment where products don't have product-market fit (PMF) yet. Your craft and ability to validate concepts will help us find ideas worth building and accelerate their path to PMF. You'll also join our Experience Design team. There, you'll work with other designers, researchers, and analysts to shape our practice.
If you thrive in ambiguity and get excited about discovering what will truly resonate with users, we'd love to hear from you!
What you'll do
- Design and validate zero-to-one concepts. Move from rough ideas to testable prototypes that increase confidence and reduce risk. Explore different visual identities for concepts that feel like Journi.
- Support PM and Engineering with problem framing. Collaborate to balance user needs, business opportunities, and technical constraints before designing solutions.
- Run lean research with support. Choose the right methods to validate assumptions as you lean on research experts. Share insights that move the team forward.
- Thrive in ambiguity and change. Pivot when you learn something new. Embrace the fast-paced, iterative nature of finding PMF.
- Encourage user-centered thinking. Remind teams to focus on solving customer problems in meetings and workshops.
Who we're looking for
- 2+ years designing mobile apps. Show us a mobile-focused portfolio with strong craft, cross-functional collaboration and tangible impact.
- Solid UX fundamentals. You're competent at interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and can run user research with lightweight support.
- Base understanding of information architecture and service design. If this is an area where you’re experienced, even better.
- Experience validating early-stage concepts. You've successfully used research and experimentation to accelerate products toward PMF.
- Solid Communication & Presentation Skills. Your excellent English helps you to present design work, facilitate workshops, and explain your decisions.
- You are allowed to work in Austria and willing to move to (or are already in) Vienna.
