Position Overview: Associate Solution Specialist Security and Compliance
JourneyTeam is seeking an Associate Solution Specialist Security and Compliance to join our Security & Compliance practice. This entry-level role is designed for individuals beginning their career in Microsoft cloud technologies who are eager to develop technical expertise while supporting customers and internal teams.
The Associate Solution Specialist Security and Compliance primarily supports managed services (MSP) operations, resolves support tickets, assists with implementations, and learns to troubleshoot Microsoft environments. This role works under the guidance of Solution Specialists and Senior team members while building foundational skills in Microsoft Security, Identity, Device Management, and Azure technologies.
The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn. They enjoy solving problems, following processes, and steadily expanding their technical capabilities in real-world customer environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve customer support tickets related to Microsoft 365 environments, following defined SLAs and escalation paths
- Perform routine operational tasks including user provisioning, licensing, permissions, and device enrollment
- Monitor security alerts and escalate potential risks or incidents to senior team members
- Execute standard troubleshooting procedures using established runbooks and document resolution details
- Assist Solution Specialists with implementation tasks across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Azure, and Security & Compliance solutions
- Configure baseline tenant settings and support device onboarding and conditional access configurations under guidance
- Support repeatable deployment activities and managed services operations using JourneyTeam standards
- Maintain accurate documentation including ticket notes, knowledge base articles, and technical instructions
- Communicate status updates and collaborate with project managers and team members on customer work
- Manage assigned tasks and backlog items while meeting response and resolution expectations
- Participate in training, labs, shadowing, and certification efforts to develop technical expertise
- Continuously build foundational knowledge of Microsoft cloud, security concepts, and troubleshooting methodology
Qualifications
- Foundational understanding of IT concepts such as identity, networking, operating systems, or cloud computing (education, labs, internship, or self-study acceptable)
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or Azure environments through coursework, certifications, personal labs, or hands-on experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies quickly
- Ability to follow structured processes and document work clearly
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

Compensation & Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 + performance-based bonus program. Eligibility and payout are tied to individual contributions, team performance, and company success. This is the established pay range for the Associate Solution Specialist roles on the Security and Compliance Practice at JourneyTeam. Final compensation is dependent on demonstrated skills, relevant experience, and alignment with the role’s responsibilities. In general, new employees can expect to start at the lower end of the range (with opportunity to grow and expand within the organization). JourneyTeam offers a wide range of excellent benefits, including comprehensive healthcare and dental coverage, as well as a 401(k) with an approximate 4% employer match—with immediate vesting. We offer flexible time off, with employees averaging 3.75 weeks per year, and provide paid maternity and paternity leave. Additional perks include a monthly phone stipend (or the option to join our corporate phone plan) and a monthly gym membership reimbursement of up to $200.
