Job Description

Senior Technical Project Manager at Journey

We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of both strategic and client-focused software projects within Journey’s diverse portfolio. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with Product and Software Development leads and their teams, ensuring meticulous planning, clear communication, and efficient execution of project budgets, resources, and tasks. You will also play a key part in advancing the discipline of project management at Journey, contributing significantly to one of our most important projects to date.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all project management aspects for client-facing and strategic software development initiatives, including budget allocation, resource management, and task scheduling.
  • Own and optimize core project management processes, ensuring smooth operations and transparent communications across all project phases.
  • Work in close partnership with Product and Software Development leadership and their teams to ensure the successful achievement of overall project objectives.
  • Manage team resources and tasks, developing clear plans that instill confidence in delivery for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain consistent and appropriately detailed communication with internal teams (project team, executive leadership, Technology leadership) and client-facing project teams.
  • Understand financial constraints and reporting needs, aligning resource and development plans accordingly.
  • Own the software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, including defining and implementing agile methodologies for project execution.
  • Collaborate directly with the software development team to accelerate delivery and proactively remove any roadblocks.
  • Contribute to the advancement of project management best practices across Journey by collaborating with other Software Project Managers.

Candidate Qualifications & Skills

Required
  • 10+ years of proven experience in software project management within fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Extensive experience working with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex projects with evolving delivery objectives.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple stakeholders at various levels within client organizations.
  • Ability to develop clear, measurable metrics and qualitative indicators of project success.
  • A collaborative team player with exceptional communication skills.
Desirable
  • Possession of a recognized project management certification (e.g., PMP, CSM).
  • Experience utilizing a diverse range of project management software and platforms.
  • Familiarity with 3D digital workflows, including video games, XR (Extended Reality), Digital Twins, CG animation, or visual effects.
  • Experience within creative production environments.
