Data Engineering Lead
Joppy is collaborating with a TOP Fintech company to find a Data Engineering Lead. This role offers full remote flexibility within Spain or a hybrid option in Barcelona.
Responsibilities
As a Data Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Leading, mentoring, and growing the data engineering team, establishing best practices.
- Designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and data lake architectures.
- Collaborating with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions.
- Owning the development and maintenance of ETL/ELT processes, data quality, versioning, and governance.
- Optimizing data workflows for efficiency and minimal downtime.
- Championing a data-first culture and ensuring data infrastructure scalability.
- Supporting data analyst workflows and guiding analytics efforts, depending on scope and experience.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven experience leading or mentoring data engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Background in designing and implementing data platforms in cloud environments (AWS preferred, GCP/Azure acceptable).
- Solid experience with Kafka, Airflow, DBT, and modern data warehouses (Redshift preferred, BigQuery/Snowflake acceptable).
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with DevOps culture, CI/CD practices, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
- Deep understanding of data governance, versioning, and quality control.
- (Nice to have) Experience guiding analytics efforts or working with data analyst/BI teams.
