About the role

About Joko

At Joko, we help consumers shop smarter. Our mission is to revolutionize shopping, empowering people to find what they need, make informed decisions, and save money.

Founded in Paris, Joko is a tech company and certified B Corp with over 90 talents across Paris, Barcelona, and New York (and beyond). More than 5 million users already save money every day at 10,000+ merchants with Joko.

From cashback and automatic coupons to price alerts and carbon tracking, we keep expanding our products to make shopping smarter. We’re now building an AI-powered shopping assistant to help users find the best products by price, quality, and impact.

Having reached profitability in our core market, we’re now scaling globally, with a strong focus on the US. It’s still day 1, come build the future of shopping with us!

Our Engineering team

Our Engineering team excels at solving cutting-edge technical challenges with elegant solutions. With a strong focus on product innovation and design, they are shaping the future of the shopping experience. Their ambition is to have a positive impact on the everyday lives of hundreds of millions of users around the world.

Software Engineers in the Engineering team work hand-in-hand with the Product team, from exploration, design, and roadmap prioritization to implementation, and deployment in production. At Joko, we have firsthand experience that teams with engineers who possess a diverse range of skills, and where engineering and product collaborate closely, are able to deliver a truly delightful and innovative user experience.

The Engineering team is currently growing fast to continuously innovate on all parts of our product and tech stack and to empower the revolution of the way people shop online.

What You Will Do

  • As a Growth Software Engineer, you will be the driving force behind scaling Joko's user and business growth through code.
  • You will work hand-in-hand with the Product team, iterating fast on high-impact levers — acquisition, retention, engagement — across France and our international expansion, starting with the US.
  • Operate at the intersection of product and engineering to move the business forward at speed, within a dedicated cross-functional task force bringing together key members from Marketing, Data, Business, and Product.
  • Design, build, and ship experiments across the full user journey — from onboarding to retention — to drive significant impact on key growth metrics. Quantify impact, iterate on what works, and kill what doesn't, fast.
  • Work on ambitious features like gamification, personalization, and cross-feature engagement to deepen user connection with Joko's increasingly complex product surface.
  • Build and run A/B tests at scale, instrument features for measurement, and partner closely with the Data team to make every decision evidence-based.
  • Move quickly, put prototypes in front of users, gather feedback, and iterate, thriving on short cycles and learning loops.
  • Be the natural bridge between business, product, and technical stakeholders, translating business challenges into engineering solutions and surfacing technical constraints that shape product decisions.
  • Ensure alignment across teams so that growth efforts move fast without friction.
  • Depending on priorities, play a role in Joko's expansion into new markets, adapting the product to local contexts and helping our infrastructure scale across geographies.

Who We're Looking For

  • Strong software engineering experience in a fast-paced environment with real production constraints, ideally in a B2C product used by hundreds of thousands of users.
  • Shipped features end-to-end and taken full ownership of their outcomes.
  • A builder's mindset: love building things that move metrics and thinking about the business impact of what you ship.
  • Full-stack spirit: comfortable across the stack, adapting to whatever layer the problem lives in — front, back, infra — without hesitation.
  • Deeply data-driven: instrument your code, design experiments, and use data to validate or kill your hypotheses.
  • Fast learner: up to speed quickly on new domains, new markets, and new constraints, energized by unfamiliar territory.
  • Problem solver: bring creative, practical solutions to complex, ambiguous problems, figuring out what matters and going to build it.
  • Drive & ownership: hold yourself accountable for outcomes, not just outputs, caring about whether your work actually moves the needle.
  • Team player: work closely with Product, Design, and Data, communicating clearly, sharing context generously, and making the people around you faster.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: like challenges, welcome feedback, and love constantly learning and getting better.
