Overview
The Surveyor - Hospital Nurse Psych is a nationwide role where the selected candidate can be located anywhere in the United States. This role calls for an Acute Care Registered Nurse with leadership experience in quality, accreditation and/or regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Survey health care organizations across the U.S. for compliance with Joint Commission standards.
- Apply systems analysis and inductive reasoning to assess safe care delivery systems.
- Engage organization staff in interactive discussions and compliance improvement.
- Prepare detailed management reports linking deficiencies to organizational risks.
- Participate in additional Joint Commission activities as assigned.
Qualifications
Candidates must be a graduate from an approved nursing school and hold a master’s degree in an appropriate discipline. A current professional license and CPHQ certification (or attainment by 12/31/28) is required. Applicants should have psychiatric hospital experience with a minimum of five years of recent healthcare experience including clinical and leadership roles, alongside direct involvement in two Joint Commission surveys.
Physical and Travel Requirements
This position requires the ability to perform in a variety of physical settings, including long periods of standing and walking, and extensive nationwide travel by car and air under various weather conditions.
FTE Structure
- 1.0 FTE: 4 weeks travel availability.
- 0.7 FTE: 3 weeks travel availability.
- 0.48 FTE: 2 weeks travel availability.

Compensation
Salary: USD 115,000 per year.
