Job Description
About the Role
Joinrs, on behalf of the Canonical team, is seeking a Junior Web Developer to create and maintain high fidelity websites and web apps. You will work in a multi-disciplinary environment with UX designers, visual designers, and other developers, focusing on compliance with style guides and high performance across devices.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain web applications using HTML, CSS (SCSS), JavaScript, React, and TypeScript.
- Update content, add new pages, and manage update requests.
- Ensure outputs are consistent with web style guides and accessibility standards.
- Collaborate closely with UX and visual design teams.
- Participate in the maintenance of our living style guide, Vanilla Framework.
Required Skills & Experience
- Degree in Engineering, STEM, Computer Science IT or equivalent.
- Experience with modern web applications, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript.
- Familiarity with JavaScript component libraries and Git/version control systems.
- Understanding of SEO, accessibility, and web performance.
- Based in EMEA timezones.
Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with Linux desktop technologies.
- Experience with Python or NodeJS.
- Experience with large scale React (TypeScript) projects.
- History of open source contributions.
