Job Description

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a (Sr.) Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Bladder Cancer Region: Baden-Württemberg, full-time or part-time (80%).

Tätigkeitsbereich (Areas of Responsibility)

  • Proactive and reactive scientific exchange with external experts from clinic and research (HCP inquiries)
  • Communication on label product data, clinical study programs, and scientific information about products/indications in development
  • Main responsibility for the regional leadership team (LT)
  • Implementation of the centrally approved Medical Plan within the team
  • Coordination of indication-specific topic inquiries within the LT
  • Alignment with Medical Advisors and other medical functions
  • Obtaining answers and core information from MAF colleagues
  • If necessary, organization of indication-specific regional meetings of multiple LTs

Strategic Analysis and Development

  • Acquisition of strategic knowledge about therapeutic pathways, scientific activities, and developments in core indications
  • Identification of open core questions, data gaps, and medical needs as a basis for patient outcome solutions
  • Proactive support in developing and implementing medical strategies

Collaboration with Global Clinical Operations (GCO)

  • Identification and establishment of viable partnerships with potential study centers
  • Support in selecting study centers and investigators
  • Participation in setting up, planning, and implementing interventional and non-interventional studies
  • Preparation and participation in Investigator Meetings; presentation of study results in partnership with GCO and in coordination with MPL

Medical Education and Advisory Boards

  • Identification of needs for supra-regional and regional Medical Education activities
  • Content planning, execution, and participatory moderation of scientific discussions with speakers
  • Giving presentations by invitation of the scientific advisory board
  • Organizational support of Advisory Board meetings

Representation and Network Building

  • Scientific representation of the company at national and international congresses, Investigator Meetings, and Medical Education events
  • Building and expanding a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) network
  • Engagement in professional societies and health policy organizations to shape the health policy environment

Clinical Support and Training

  • Instruction and training of physicians in the use of the device under development

Literature Review

  • Evaluation and preparation of current medical-scientific information from specialist literature, considering regional needs and the CVT strategy

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Completed studies in Medicine, Natural Sciences, or Pharmacy
  • PhD preferred
  • Sufficient scientific experience in a human medical-clinical context
  • Ideally, experience in uro-oncology, especially in the field of bladder cancer
  • Willingness to be present in the treatment room and to accompany the introduction of the device
  • Ability to perform supportive non-medical or non-nursing tasks after appropriate training and in close coordination with the treating medical team (e.g., technical support with handling, instruction of the team regarding device functionality)
  • Experience in uro-oncology, specifically in the field of bladder cancer
  • Experience with medical devices
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience in coordinating interdisciplinary teams
  • Collaborative mindset
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel
  • Ability to work autonomously in the region

Desirable Competencies

  • Experience in clinical trial planning and investigator engagement
  • An existing network in professional societies and with KOLs in the uro-oncology field
  • Experience in Medical Education, Advisory Boards, and congress and project management
  • Experience in the clinical environment (hospital, outpatient treatment) and the associated use of medical devices
