Overview

At Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, we are looking for a Missile Modeling and Simulation Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems with sophisticated modeling and simulation tools.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and utilize high-fidelity engagement-level simulation tools.
- Conduct physics-based analyses of threat missile systems.
- Determine critical performance factors through data-driven analysis.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including aerodynamics, GNC, propulsion, and more.
- Prepare and present technical documentation to sponsors and partners.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a BS degree in a technical field such as Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics. Experience in missile or aerospace systems modeling and simulation along with strong programming skills in languages like C++, MATLAB, Python, Simulink, or FORTRAN is required. The ability to obtain security clearance is essential.
Preferred Experience
- MS or PhD in a related technical field.
- Understanding of software design and object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience with version control tools like Git and test-driven development.
- Familiarity with simulation tools such as ESAMS, AFSIM, TMAP, or TBA.
- Active Secret clearance is a plus.
