We collaborate with partners to unlock new capital and invest in green, technology-enabled, and connectivity-focused infrastructure.
Communications Department (COM)
The COM department's mission is to build stakeholder trust through impactful communications that highlight AIIB's role in improving lives and serving future generations. As AIIB approaches its first decade, COM is instrumental in telling the Bank's story. We manage messaging, media coverage, social media engagement, and awareness building with global stakeholders.

This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping the Bank's narrative and enhancing its regional and international profile through strategic media engagement. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished communications professional, either from a corporate communications background or with a journalism foundation, possessing the credibility to represent AIIB externally and the authority to drive internal media strategy. A background in media and a proven record of in-house delivery are essential.
Key Responsibilities

- Activate media protocols within the Bank's crisis communications framework, providing reputational risk assessments and advising on media engagement strategies to senior management.
- Build and maintain strong institutional relationships with prominent international and regional media organizations at the editorial leadership level.
- Cultivate relationships across the media ecosystem, including top editors, commentators, foreign and business editors, Bretton Woods institution reporters, and vertical specialists.
- Coordinate media relationship-building efforts across Bank leadership and COM team leads to foster institutional rather than individual relationships.
- Maintain an up-to-date contact list of journalists and media outlets and establish regular communication processes.
- Provide strategic media counsel to AIIB senior management on global media trends, positioning, reputational risk, and sensitive issues.
- Coordinate and oversee media training for senior leadership to expand the Bank's spokesperson bench.

- Establish and oversee Bank-wide protocols for media engagement, enquiry handling, and press-release coordination.
- Develop and maintain core media messages, ensuring consistency across all communications.
- Serve as a senior point of contact for media inquiries, ensuring timely and coordinated responses.
- Implement and maintain media relationship management systems to track engagement and build institutional knowledge.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop compelling stories demonstrating AIIB's impact and mission delivery.
- Manage media events, draft and edit news releases, and produce content that resonates with target audiences.
- Oversee media monitoring and analytics, providing coverage analysis, correcting inaccuracies, and ensuring internal awareness of media sentiment.
- Develop and maintain all media materials, ensuring alignment with corporate brand and business priorities.
- Work with external PR agencies and senior media advisors to extend reach in key markets while maintaining internal ownership of strategic relationships.
