Mission of an AI Technical Expert

The AI Technical Expert will join Candriam's Transformation and Innovation Team, a transversal unit critical to driving strategic initiatives across IT and Business domains. This team is tasked with accelerating innovation, fostering continuous improvement, identifying and developing high-value automation and AI use cases, and ensuring strong alignment between technology solutions and business strategy.

As a catalyst between Business Units and IT Domains, the team ensures AI initiatives deliver measurable business value while adhering to Candriam's security, governance, and regulatory standards. Within this context, the AI Technical Expert will strengthen the team's internal artificial intelligence capabilities, define and execute the AI roadmap, and support the responsible, secure, and scalable adoption of advanced analytics, automation, and generative AI solutions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AI/machine learning solutions.
• Consume existing APIs and develop robust APIs and microservices supporting business applications.
• Collaborate closely with business teams to identify high-value use cases and translate them into technical solutions with measurable impact.
• Ensure all solutions comply with security, data privacy, compliance requirements, and Candriam Standards and Policies.
• Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies, including generative AI, and evaluate their potential for business adoption.
• Actively contribute to Candriam's AI Community of Practice, fostering knowledge sharing, best practices, and cross-team collaboration.

Profile & Education Requirements

• Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent university degree).
• Fluency in both French and English is mandatory.

Experience

Candriam is open to candidates with varying levels of seniority, depending on their expertise and potential impact. Ideal candidates will bring:

• Proven experience as a Developer, AI Engineer, Data Engineer, ML Engineer, or Agentic AI specialist.
• Strong understanding of Asset Management and financial products (e.g., funds, portfolios, risk metrics, performance analysis).
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe, or similar) and contributing to digital transformation initiatives within complex organizations.

Technical Skills

• Strong programming capabilities in Python and/or another modern language (e.g., Java, Scala, C#, etc.), adhering to production-grade coding standards.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, LangChain, etc.).
• Experience designing and consuming APIs, and building microservices-based architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), MLOps tooling, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to Power Automate or similar workflow automation tools is a plus.
• Good understanding of data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements in financial services.
