Job Overview: Technical Product Owner, Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Product Owner, Architect to lead the architecture and integration design for Amgen's global Supplier Onboarding platform, Apex Analytix. This pivotal role bridges product ownership, enterprise architecture, and integration, requiring ownership of the end-to-end technical vision. You will work closely with SAP S/4HANA, MDG, and Procurement teams.

This is a hands-on leadership position focused on defining system interactions, guiding vendors and developers, and ensuring scalable, compliant supplier onboarding across the enterprise. This is not a development role.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Architecture Ownership

• Act as the technical owner for the Apex Analytix supplier onboarding platform.
• Define and maintain the target-state architecture for supplier onboarding and master data.
• Own integration patterns, data flows, and system boundaries between Apex Analytix and SAP S/4HANA.

Integration Design & Governance

• Design end-to-end supplier data integrations from Apex Analytix into SAP S/4HANA and MDG.
• Lead data mapping, transformation logic, and validation rules.
• Partner with SAP teams to ensure clean handoffs and aligned ownership.
• Ensure integrations meet stringent security, compliance, and scalability standards.

Delivery Leadership

• Translate complex business and compliance requirements into clear, actionable technical designs.
• Guide development teams and vendors effectively, fostering autonomy rather than micromanaging.
• Review designs, integration specifications, and proposed solution approaches.
• Proactively identify risks and drive timely mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Serve as the primary technical interface for Procurement business teams, Apex Analytix vendor, SAP S/4HANA / MDG teams, and systems integrators.
• Lead technical discussions, design reviews, and critical decision forums.
• Drive crucial technical alignment across geographically distributed global teams.

Change & Continuity

• Support seamless knowledge transfer from the outgoing resource to ensure continuity.
• Contribute significantly to the long-term platform roadmap and its strategic evolution.
• Ensure that all solutions are future-ready for upcoming regulatory and business changes.

Required Qualifications

Core Experience

• 8+ years of extensive experience in enterprise application architecture or technical product ownership.
• Strong background with supplier onboarding or supplier lifecycle management platforms.
• Proven expertise in designing robust integrations with SAP S/4HANA.
• Demonstrated experience working effectively in large, regulated enterprise environments.

Strongly Preferred

• Hands-on experience with SAP Ariba SLP (Supplier Lifecycle & Performance).
• Exposure to Master Data Governance (MDG).
• Practical experience with cloud-based SaaS integrations.
• Familiarity with procurement and vendor master data domains.
