Software Engineering
Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team. This role involves challenging software engineering tasks across various domains, including backend, full-stack, infrastructure, and systems. You will be responsible for reviewing, debugging, improving, and explaining code in different technical environments. The position also requires designing and evaluating practical solutions for APIs, databases, services, integrations, testing, and deployment workflows. A key aspect of this role is identifying tradeoffs related to scalability, maintainability, performance, reliability, security, and developer experience. Clear written communication of technical reasoning, including the rationale behind solutions and alternatives considered, is essential. You will also collaborate with the customer's team on technical reviews, implementation decisions, and problem-solving.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in at least one backend or full-stack engineering environment (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Java, C#, .NET, C++, Go, Ruby, PHP).
- Experience building, maintaining, or reviewing production-level applications, APIs, services, databases, or integrations.
- Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals such as debugging, testing, code quality, architecture, and technical tradeoffs.
- Ability to clearly and objectively explain complex engineering decisions.
- Comfort in reading and reasoning through unfamiliar code or technical requirements.
