Shopify Plus Technical Lead at AKAASA Technologies

AKAASA Technologies is seeking a skilled Shopify Plus Technical Lead to join their team. This role involves working on new and existing ecommerce projects, from initial business development and discovery phases through to implementation and deployment. You will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing Shopify Plus ecommerce websites while adhering to best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead new ecommerce projects, guiding them from business development and discovery through to implementation and deployment.
  • Maintain and enhance existing Shopify Plus ecommerce websites, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate with Solution Strategists and Delivery Managers to gather requirements and provide expert technical suggestions.
  • Actively participate in Scrum and Sprint planning calls, contributing technical input and estimates.
  • Develop high-level technical design documentation for various projects.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews before deployment, offering technical feedback to engineering teams.
  • Maintain a detailed technical understanding of ongoing work within assigned projects.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Mandatory Shopify Plus experience.
  • Expertise in Shopify Liquid template language.
  • Proficient with Shopify APIs and their practical application.
  • Strong working knowledge of REST API.
  • Expertise in GraphQL.
  • Experience with Custom Shopify APP development.
  • Proven track record in Shopify Theme development.
  • Solid knowledge of Admin API and Storefront API.
  • Background in Product modeling and configuration through Shopify Admin.
  • Understanding of Product, Discount, Inventory, Fulfillment, Order APIs and their customization.
  • Awareness of Marketing Events, Discounts, and Gift Card configurations in Shopify.
  • Experience with Shopify instance management and configuration.
  • Knowledge of data migration and synchronization between Shopify instances.
  • Proficiency with code versioning tools like Git/SVN.
  • Good knowledge of AJAX/jQuery.
  • Prior experience with product/customer/order import/export management.
  • Experience integrating with backend systems such as ERPs, WMS, OMS.
  • Solid understanding of performance improvement best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of ecommerce web development experience.
  • PHP experience (nice to have).
  • Experience or knowledge of migrating commerce sites from other platforms (e.g., Magento to Shopify).
  • Comfortable researching and adopting new web technologies.
  • Familiarity with SEO / SEM best practices.
  • Prior experience with React / Node / NoSQL stacks (nice to have).
  • Prior experience with Shopify theme frameworks like Slate and/or Timber (nice to have).

Project/Industry Experience

Automotive industry experience is preferred, with Retail experience being a secondary preference.
