One of our direct clients is looking for Senior Backend Developer with Agentic experience in Remote.

About The Role

We're building internal developer tooling and platform infrastructure for deploying, configuring, and governing AI agents on AWS. You'll own the engine behind the deployment tooling and CLI, the configuration and validation layer, the integration with AWS Bedrock AgentCore, and the policy and governance controls that keep deployed agents consistent and compliant. This is platform and developer-tools work - closer in spirit to building Terraform or a Kubernetes operator than to building an application.

What You'll Do

  • Develop MCP servers and LLM Agent blueprints.
  • Design and build the deployment tooling and CLI.
  • Design the configuration schema and validation layer, covering both structural checks (JSON Schema / Pydantic) and semantic checks against available models, tools, and accounts.
  • Integrate deeply with AWS Bedrock AgentCore (Runtime, Memory, Gateway, Identity, Observability) and the surrounding AWS surface (IAM, CloudFormation, boto3).
  • Implement governance and policy-as-code so guardrails and access controls are enforced consistently and automatically across deployed agents.
  • Build evaluation and observability into the deployment workflow - eval gates in CI and online, plus tracing and metrics.
  • Package and distribute the platform as a versioned, installable tool (PyPI / pipx), and maintain project scaffolding and template repositories with their CI workflows.
  • Obsess over developer experience: clear errors, a fast local inner loop, sane defaults, and a path that gets engineers to a deployed, governed agent with minimal friction.

Required Qualifications

  • Expert-level Python, Fast API, strong typing, Pydantic, packaging (pyproject, building distributable CLIs), and rigorous testing (pytest, deterministic unit tests for core logic).
  • Proven experience building developer-facing tools - a CLI (Typer/Click), SDK, framework, or internal platform that other engineers depended on day to day.
  • Solid AWS depth: IAM, and boto3 in production.
  • Hands-on with the LLM / agent ecosystem: at least one agent framework (Strands, LangGraph, LangChain, or similar) and the concepts behind tool use and evaluation.
  • Experience designing schemas and validation for config or APIs (JSON Schema, OpenAPI, or equivalent), and building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Comfort working against fast-moving, preview-stage dependencies - pinning versions, isolating churn, and building abstractions that survive upstream change.
  • Hands-on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore experience (Runtime, Gateway, Memory, Identity).
  • Policy-as-code: Cedar, OPA/Rego, or similar authorization engines.
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP) server or client implementation.
  • Compiler, transpiler, or code-generation experience - anything that turns one representation into another deterministically.
  • Observability tooling: OpenTelemetry instrumentation, distributed tracing.
  • LLM evaluation frameworks and methodology.
  • Open-source contributions to developer tooling or platform projects.
