Overview of the PeopleSoft Financials ERP Instructor Designer and Trainer Role

Chandra Technologies, Inc., a client of Dice, is seeking an experienced PeopleSoft Financials ERP Instructor Designer and Trainer. This remote position primarily focuses on developing, conducting, and evaluating technical training programs for a PeopleSoft Financials ERP system. The role involves delivering comprehensive training across various mediums, including onsite, remote, and asynchronously via e-learning, to a large, collaborative remote team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude for Agile, incremental, and iterative delivery methods.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission requires experienced instructional designers to craft training curricula and content for their PeopleSoft Financials ERP system. This role is crucial in ensuring both technical and non-technical personnel can effectively utilize the system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, conduct, and evaluate technical training programs.
  • Write comprehensive literature and materials for training programs and design engaging exercises.
  • Deliver on-site and web-based training courses for software solutions.
  • Lead the development of information delivery infrastructure and contribute to training material and technical documentation maintenance.
  • Create instructor materials such as course outlines, background material, instructional materials, and training aids for various COTS Products and in-house IT solutions.
  • Assist with formatting training materials from other DIR Staff.
  • Determine customer training needs and develop plans to address them.
  • Assist in the design of computer-based and multimedia curriculum.
  • Plan, direct, and undertake classroom training, e-learning, multimedia programs, and computer-aided instructional technologies.
  • Manage the training program in line with business needs, regulatory requirements, and Quality Management System.
  • Help staff with productivity reporting within and outside the agency.
  • Research and recommend vendors and costs for diverse training methods.
  • Stay updated on developments in computer training, especially alternative media/methods.
  • Organize and draft curricula that break down complex subjects into digestible units, creating graphics and integrating them.
  • Teach short technical courses to maintain proficiency and develop new instructional techniques.
  • Incorporate new curriculum, develop and maintain professional classroom techniques, and create alternative teaching scenarios.
  • Conduct test analysis and develop or revise test items as a testing officer.
  • Gather, analyze, translate, and compose technical information into clear, readable materials.
  • Collect data and analyze audiences and training needs based on new business processes and policies.
  • Understand EIR Accessibility and assistive technologies for people with disabilities.

Job Duties Specific to PeopleSoft Financials ERP Instructor Designer and Trainer

  • Design and implement a comprehensive training program for a specific financial business area.
  • Develop accessibility-compliant, role-based content from scratch.
  • Actively participate in system design discussions and testing activities for accuracy.
  • Produce clear, user-friendly guides and training materials.
  • Facilitate effective instructor-led and web-based training sessions for trainers and end users.
  • Manage and update the training SharePoint site to ensure resources are current.

Required Skills

  • Developing a training program for ERP systems.
  • Developing accessibility-compliant training content.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience with eLearning software.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience with PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 ERP system.
  • At least 4 years of experience with Microsoft O365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • At least 2 years of experience with MS Teams and Channel communication in large teams.
  • At least 2 years of experience in maintaining and updating SharePoint sites.

Desired Skills

  • Experience working with a public sector organization (Federal, State, or Local Government).
  • Experience with Jira.
