Part-Time Security Engineer
Dice is the leading career destination for tech experts at every stage of their careers. Our client, SumasEdge Corporation, is seeking a skilled Part-Time Security Engineer to join their team remotely with occasional onsite meetings in the Kansas City Area.
Position Details
Hours: 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday during core business hours)
Schedule: Core business hours with availability for emergency issues outside standard hours
Duration: Contract with potential for full-time conversion after 4 months (conversion to 37.5 hours/week)
Start Date: ASAP
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on expertise with Palo Alto Networks Firewalls and Cortex XDR
- Solid understanding of AWS networking and security concepts
- Experience with on-premises networking and firewall administration
- Familiarity with Cisco Umbrella (DNS security)
- Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex security issues
- Strong communication skills
- Proven ability to collaborate in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) networking and firewalls
- Prior exposure to AWS WAF management
- Familiarity with hybrid or multi-cloud security architectures
Team Overview
You will join a supportive team of 6 security professionals (reducing to 4 during transition), including specialists in network security, incident response, and data security. Note that any work exceeding 25 hours per week requires prior approval.
