Overview

The OCI Database Engineer will develop and design cloud strategies aligned with business objectives. The role requires deep technical expertise in Oracle Database technologies and cloud solutions with a focus on mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, implement, and support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) database solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud database architectures.
  • Ensure high performance, availability, and security of OCI-based deployments.
  • Automate provisioning, scaling, and management of cloud resources using infrastructure-as-code.
  • Maintain required TS/SCI with Poly US Clearance.

Technical Expertise

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Database platforms (12c, 19c, or newer).
  • Proficiency in OCI database services such as Autonomous Database and Exadata Cloud Service.
  • Familiarity with OCI CLI, Console, and APIs.
  • Experience with SQL query optimization, indexing, partitioning and performance monitoring tools like Oracle AWR, ASH, and OEM.
  • Experience with Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, Python, Shell, or PL/SQL.
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA).

Collaboration & Communication

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional certifications in OCI or related technologies and experience with federal/defense sector clients.
