Role Overview

As an Azure Architect, you will design modern cloud platform templates using Microsoft Azure to accelerate product delivery, reduce risk, and improve reliability. You will lead architecture for Azure landing zones, core platforms, and reference patterns enabling product teams to ship secure, resilient solutions at speed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Reference Architecture: Define and socialize Azure reference architectures aligned with CAF and Well-Architected Framework.
  • Landing Zones & Governance: Design Enterprise-Scale Landing Zones including policy-as-code, automated compliance, and guardrails.
  • Platform Engineering & DevSecOps: Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver golden paths using Terraform/Bicep and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Application & Integration Architecture: Guide teams on AKS, App Service, and establish API/event standards.
  • Data & Analytics: Advise on Databricks, Synapse, and secure data zones.
  • Security, Resiliency & Observability: Integrate Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and design for HA/DR.
  • FinOps & Performance: Implement tagging, rightsizing, reservations, and cost optimization measures.
  • SAFe Enablement & Coaching: Mentor teams, run architecture clinics, and support PI Planning.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years in architecture/engineering with 6+ years hands-on Azure experience in large enterprises.
  • Proven experience with enterprise landing zones, network/identity baselines, and automated guardrails.
  • Hands-on experience with AKS, App Service, APIM, Functions, and secure CI/CD using Terraform/Bicep.
  • Strong security & compliance grounding including Zero Trust, MFA/PIM/CAP, and various compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to coach teams and influence executive decisions in a SAFe and product operating model.

Nice to Have

  • Microsoft certifications (AZ-305, AZ-400, AZ-500, DP-203, SC-100).
  • Experience with containers, mesh, API design at scale, and event modeling.
  • Regulated industry experience (healthcare/finance) and observability expertise.

Success Metrics (First 6-12 months)

  • Enterprise landing zones live with automated guardrails.
  • Adoption of reference architectures & golden paths by product teams.
  • Reduction in deployment time and cloud misconfiguration incidents.
  • Optimization of cost drivers and improved visibility per tenant workload.
