About the role
Lead Functional Business Analyst – Security Master Initiative
Momento USA is seeking a highly specialized Wealth Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the functional requirements gathering for a greenfield Security Master build-out. This individual will act as the bridge between our business stakeholders—serving Mid-Value to Ultra-High-Net-Worth (UHNW) clients—and our technical architecture teams.
The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the data lifecycle of a financial instrument, from initial sourcing to the creation of a "Golden Copy." You will be responsible for defining how our firm identifies, classifies, and manages global securities to ensure seamless downstream trading, reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Leadership: Lead the end-to-end collection and documentation of functional requirements for a robust, scalable Security Master system.
- Document Ownership: Author the Requirements Definition Document (RDD), ensuring it contains the level of granularity required for developers to build data schemas and validation engines.
- Data Governance Design: Define the business logic for creating a "Golden Copy," including data scrubbing, source prioritization (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC), and exception handling.
- Symbology Management: Establish requirements for cross-referencing global identifiers (CUSIP, ISIN, SEDOL, FIGI, Ticker) to ensure data integrity across various custodial platforms.
- Asset Classification: Design the taxonomy for asset classification (GICS, BICS, or proprietary frameworks) to support complex UHNW portfolio reporting.
- Stakeholder Management: Facilitate workshops with Portfolio Managers, Operations, and Compliance to ensure the Security Master supports Mid-Value to UHNW specificities, such as tax-aware investing and bespoke instrument types.
Technical & Domain Expertise
- Security Breadth: Advanced knowledge of diverse financial security types, including but not limited to: Fixed Income (Corporate/Gov Bonds, Munis, and High-Yield), Equities (Domestic and International stocks, ADRs, and Preferreds), Pooled Vehicles (ETFs, Mutual Funds, and Closed-End Funds), and Complex Instruments (REITs, Structured Notes, and Derivatives).
- Managed Services: Familiarity with the operational workflows of Managed Accounts (SMA/UMAs) and how security data impacts sleeve-level accounting.
- Lifecycle Knowledge: Understanding of Corporate Actions, accrual logic, and pricing frequency requirements for UHNW reporting.
Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years in Wealth Management, specifically within Data Management or Middle Office operations.
- Documentation: Proven track record of delivering high-quality RDDs/BRDs for large-scale data migrations or master data management (MDM) projects.
- Market Data: Deep familiarity with vendors like Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), and Morningstar.
- UHNW Focus: Understanding of the precision required for UHNW reporting (multi-currency, complex tax lots, and bespoke asset classes).
- Communication: Ability to translate "Street" terminology into functional technical specifications.
Note to Candidates: This is a high-impact role. You are not just documenting fields; you are designing the "source of truth" that will power a firm's investment engine for the next decade.
