Software Testing and Quality Assurance

Analyze, review, and assess user requirements, specifications, and functional designs for testability. Actively participate in functional and technical specification meetings. Contribute to test effort estimations, test design specifications, test case specifications, and test procedure specifications. Define test cycles and entry/exit criteria. Develop comprehensive test plans and scripts, including conditions and expected results, adhering to IT standards. Review test plans created by others. Coordinate test environment setup with cross-functional teams. Prepare and create test data to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow. Implement and execute tests at various levels (functional, system integration, performance). Document and log tests, evaluate results, and report deviations from expected outcomes. Measure product performance and track test incident resolution. Evaluate test automation possibilities and utilize test automation tools for performance testing where feasible. Create test summary reports and risk analyses for client acceptance. Provide consulting expertise for applications and software being tested by others. Regularly report on testing status, highlighting potential impacts on product delivery.

Test Tool Support

Learn and understand automated test tools for product, regression, or performance testing. Assist and train others in using these tools. Contact test tool support teams for assistance as needed. Document recommendations on test tool usage and answers to frequently asked questions.

Test Management

Administer, manage, and monitor test progress using test administration/management and monitoring tools. Apply project management methodology and techniques to manage software application testing tasks. Plan, estimate, schedule, and control testing phases of projects.

Build and maintain positive, proactive relationships with clients. Understand client business needs and provide consultation and testing support. Keep clients informed of testing progress.
