GIS Software Application Engineer

Our client, Protos IT, is seeking a highly motivated, responsible, and detailed-oriented GIS Software Application Engineer to join their team. This role supports a long-term program for an Investor-Owned Utility client, focusing on the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of GIS applications. You will provide world-class application support for multiple utility company applications, working directly with client customers. This position also involves collaborating with the Product Support Manager and team to maintain daily GIS operations. The ideal candidate is experienced, self-motivated, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced development environment while effectively interacting with key customers and users.
Responsibilities include:
- Working directly with client customers and project teams to provide world-class Software Development services for multiple utility company applications.
- Interacting with map features and efficiently using core GIS software functions.
- Utilizing ESRI Field Maps for field operations.
- Leveraging available tools to solve tasks, including ESRI Experience Builder and ESRI Portal.
- Working with ArcGIS Online for web-based GIS solutions.
- Extending core GIS functions by creating new modules, custom tools, or extensions.
- Understanding Spatial Data Modeling, including the creation and manipulation of features.
- Updating RWO Objects and applying them to the database.
- Building Custom GIS Applications using ArcGIS Engine or Runtime.
- Querying, Reporting, and Extraction of Spatial Data.
- Participating in an On-Call Rotation.
Required Skills, Education and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, GIS, or a related field. A high school diploma with additional relevant work experience may be considered.
- 4+ years of related experience.
- Proficiency in ESRI software is required.
- Experience with Oracle and SQL Server.
- Ability to perform in a complex, multi-tasking, and multi-customer work environment.
- Ability to work within limited time constraints and strict deadlines.
