Job Summary: DevOps Architect

We are building an AI-native data management platform that assists enterprise organizations in migrating critical data, modernizing legacy systems, and navigating complex regulatory requirements. This environment emphasizes production deployments where security, reliability, and compliance are paramount. As a DevOps Architect, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and deployment systems.

You will address real-world challenges, balancing development speed with enterprise constraints, supporting customer deployments where downtime is unacceptable, and solving unique problems without readily available solutions. This position offers significant ownership and impact, fostering valuable experience transferable across serious engineering organizations while maintaining a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support smooth software delivery.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform for provisioning and configuration management.
• Monitor system performance and application health using modern observability and error tracking platforms to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Support cloud cost optimization and help implement governance practices.
• Support enterprise customer deployments during implementation cycles.
• Implement security controls and support compliance certification processes.
• Share responsibility for production system reliability and incident response.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment.
• Support disaster recovery and backup strategies.

Experience

• 10+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer or in similar infrastructure roles.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining production cloud infrastructure.
• Experience supporting applications in production environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and architecture patterns.
• Proficiency with Docker and solid experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Experience implementing observability and error tracking solutions (such as Datadog, New Relic, or similar) in production environments.
• Solid scripting and automation skills using Python or Bash.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
• Solid understanding of networking, security groups, load balancers, and DNS.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar.
• Proficiency with Git and Linux system administration.
• Database operations experience supporting production systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Comfort with changing priorities and ability to adapt quickly.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience at B2B SaaS or startup companies.
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and service mesh technologies.
• Exposure to AI/ML workloads.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud or Azure.
• Experience with data-intensive applications or ETL pipelines.
