About the Database Engineer - PostgreSQL Admin Role

Dice is the leading career destination for tech experts at every stage of their careers. Our client, HPTech Inc., is seeking a Database Engineer - PostgreSQL Admin with extensive experience in PostgreSQL administration and cloud database management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage PostgreSQL databases with an emphasis on EDB ecosystems.
  • Implement Multi Master Replication architectures on-prem and AWS.
  • Configure complex AWS RDS databases including Aurora and Global Database solutions.
  • Ensure security policies, user authentication, and IAM configurations are in place.
  • Oversee database migration between on-prem and AWS platforms.
  • Perform routine maintenance including patching and health checks.
  • Utilize tools such as Jira, GitLab, Ansible, and Terraform for operations.

Technical Environment

The role involves working with PostgreSQL on Linux (RHEL), Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS cloud services, and advanced replication and sharding techniques. Hands-on experience with EDB EPAS, Postgres Distributed, and AWS RDS is required.
