Job Purpose and Responsibilities
The Database Administrator Advanced serves as a key member of the infrastructure team supporting applications migration for the SC Department of Environmental Services, Office of Technology. This role ensures a seamless transition from legacy systems to modern platforms while maintaining data integrity, security, and compliance with state IT standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess databases for migration readiness
- Develop and implement migration strategies for on-premises and cloud environments
- Coordinate with application teams to ensure compatibility and minimal downtime
- Monitor migration processes and resolve issues
- Provide technical guidance and training
- Configure and maintain SQL Server and other database platforms
- Perform schema conversions, data transformations, and integrity checks
- Optimize performance and implement security measures during migration
- Ensure compliance with data regulations and security standards
