Data Governance Lead

Role Overview

Jobs via Dice is seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to spearhead the modernization and acceleration of data governance practices for their client. This crucial onsite role involves enabling scalable, automated, and AI-driven governance capabilities. You will work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including the Data Office, Data Stewards, and various technical stakeholders, to ensure robust data management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of comprehensive data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices.
• Collaborate effectively with business and technical teams to define and optimize governance processes.
• Oversee metadata management, data cataloging, and ensure end-to-end data lineage, specifically utilizing Informatica IDMC.
• Define and implement robust data quality rules, metrics, and monitoring mechanisms to maintain data integrity.
• Identify and drive automation and AI/GenAI-based accelerators to significantly enhance governance efficiency.
• Facilitate productive workshops and working sessions with diverse stakeholders to gather requirements and align on governance objectives.
• Ensure effective documentation, thorough training, and seamless knowledge transfer to internal teams.
• Track deliverables diligently and support agile execution aligned with evolving priorities.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 8+ years of dedicated experience in data governance, data management, or data quality roles.
• Proven hands-on experience with Informatica IDMC, including its metadata management, data catalog, and lineage capabilities.
• Strong foundational understanding of established data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).
• Practical experience with various data quality tools, adherence to metadata standards, and effective data stewardship practices.
• Exposure to automation tools and AI/GenAI technologies within the context of data governance is a significant advantage.
• Excellent communication skills and proven ability in stakeholder management.
• Capable of working effectively in a hybrid team environment, fostering collaboration between onsite and offshore teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Snowflake or other prominent cloud data platforms.
• Familiarity with critical regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Relevant certifications in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, Informatica certifications).
