About the role
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Database Administrator to oversee the stability, performance, and security of enterprise-level database systems for one of our clients. In this role, you will manage mission-critical databases that support large-scale applications and business operations, ensuring seamless performance and reliability.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate new applications, optimize data workflows, and maintain compliance with industry security standards. Your expertise will directly influence data-driven decision-making, operational efficiency, and the long-term scalability of the organization’s data infrastructure. This role provides an opportunity to drive excellence in database engineering and contribute to a high-impact technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, administer, and optimize robust database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.).
- Monitor database performance and proactively resolve bottlenecks to ensure high availability.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate new applications and ensure database compatibility.
- Create and maintain comprehensive database documentation including standards, procedures, and data dictionaries.
- Manage user access, permissions, security roles, and authentication protocols.
- Develop and implement backup, restore, and recovery strategies for mission-critical data.
- Enforce data security standards and regulatory compliance across all database environments.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide guidance on database best practices.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in database administration.
- Strong expertise with major DBMS platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.
- Proficiency in writing, executing, and optimizing SQL queries.
- Experience designing and executing backup, recovery, and business continuity strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Working knowledge of database performance tuning and high-availability solutions.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent.
