Job Description

Remote System Architect

As a System Architect, you will be instrumental in designing and overseeing the technical architecture of systems used in industrial applications. Your expertise will not only guide product development from concept through to release but will also play a crucial role in aligning technology trends with customer needs. By engaging directly with clients globally, you will understand and address their evolving system requirements while ensuring product quality and manufacturability are optimized. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to pave the way for innovative solutions in a rapidly advancing technological landscape.

Key Accountabilities

  • Own system architecture for Force Guided Relais and General-Purpose Relays used in industrial applications.
  • Engage and visit global customers to understand system behavior, modularization levels, and evolving technology needs.
  • Combine technology and application expertise to generate system architecture requirements.
  • Ensure technology and product roadmaps align with customer next-generation products and market trends.
  • Analyze primary drivers of product and technology gaps and predict optimal technical solutions.
  • Participate in standardization activities and influence industry trends to align with strategy.
  • Develop application whitepapers to support internal teams and customer understanding.
  • Provide technical input to Product Roadmaps and technology forecasts.
  • Lead competitive benchmarking and evaluate new product concepts.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree (BSc/MSc) with 10+ years of relevant experience; MBA or dual business degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in system design within the product-line or component-supplier industry.
  • Solid system design experience with Force-Guided Relays and General-Purpose Relays.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards (IEC and UL) and TÜV requirements for Force-guided Relays.
  • Expertise in Functional Safety and Safety Integrity concepts.
  • Strong industry network and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in German and English; French or Chinese is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to build relationships with external customers and industry leaders.
