Sr. Counsel at Jobgether's Partner Company

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a rapidly growing partner company in the SaaS space. We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Counsel to be the first legal hire, shaping the legal landscape and driving strategic initiatives.

You will play a pivotal role in leading acquisitions and enhancing our legal framework, leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies. This position demands an operational mindset, focusing on streamlining processes for efficient global business operations and ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions while managing a lean legal team.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the legal lifecycle of approximately 5 acquisitions per year, coordinating local counsel in Europe and North America.
  • Develop tax-efficient deal structures, utilizing AI for advanced modeling and ensuring compliance with international tax regulations.
  • Oversee the management of a significant $100M debt facility, ensuring strict compliance and nurturing relationships with lenders.
  • Ensure comprehensive legal compliance for a workforce of 400 across diverse countries, including Germany, Canada, and the US.
  • Manage and further develop a global Stock Appreciation Rights program.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of robust experience in a legal role, with a strong preference for backgrounds in Private Equity or M&A environments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using AI tools to significantly enhance and automate legal operations.
  • Profound understanding of international tax frameworks and the proven ability to leverage AI for strategic tax planning.
  • Possess a strong operational mindset, prioritizing deal velocity and astute risk management.
  • Excellent communication skills, crucial for effectively managing relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
