Overview

Jobgether is recruiting for a Senior Software Engineer - Data Products to design, build, and maintain backend services and data pipelines for enterprise-grade internal productivity platforms in India. The role emphasizes data integration, transformation, and operationalization to deliver reliable insights across systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain ETL/data pipelines from various systems.
  • Build and deploy REST/gRPC microservices and backend services.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and implement governance practices.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and data scientists to deliver features.
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions on data modeling and distributed systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
  • Innovate in data integration, storage, and product design for scalability.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in backend and data engineering.
  • Experience with ETL/data pipelines using tools like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and modern storage models (Lakehouse, Delta, Iceberg).
  • Hands-on experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, Pulsar) and distributed processing (Spark).
  • Experience building microservices (REST/gRPC) in distributed environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Product-oriented mindset with effective communication across global teams.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with modern data storage architectures and analytics frameworks.
  • Familiarity with hybrid work models and multi time-zone collaboration.
  • Leadership experience in mentoring or guiding engineering teams.

Work Environment & Process

This position follows a hybrid work model: 3 days in-office (Tuesday to Thursday) and 2 days remote. The application process includes AI-powered screening and potential manual review for top candidates.
