Medical Director (Utilization Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Medical Director (Utilization Management) based in United States.

This physician leadership role is responsible for ensuring clinically appropriate, evidence-based utilization decisions for Medicare Advantage members.
You will evaluate inpatient admissions, continued stays, and post-acute services while balancing quality outcomes, medical necessity, and regulatory requirements.
The role combines independent clinical judgment with close collaboration across utilization management, care management, and provider teams.
You will serve as a senior clinical resource for complex cases and physician-to-physician discussions requiring expert medical review.
Your work will help strengthen care coordination, support regulatory compliance, and reduce avoidable admissions and extended stays.
The position also offers opportunities to influence utilization strategies, identify care trends, and contribute to clinical program development.
This is a fully remote, full-time leadership opportunity operating on a Monday–Friday schedule aligned with Pacific Time.
